You can use the Betafi extension on the following browsers:

  1. Google Chrome

  2. Brave

  3. Firefox

  4. Opera

  5. Arc

  6. Microsoft Edge

Generally, we support any Chrome-based browser that allows installing Chrome extensions from the Chrome Web Store. But certain browsers require additional permissions or configuration steps after the initial installation process so that the Betafi extension can function properly.

If you haven’t already installed the Betafi for Google Meet extension, here’s the link.

Install Instructions for Brave

If you are using Brave, make sure to “put the Shields DOWN” for meet.google.com to use Betafi during your Google Meet calls. This is necessary for the Betafi extension to communicate with the Google Meet website during the call.

Refer to the screenshot below:

Install Instructions for Firefox

Betafi has experimental support for Firefox via a separate Add-on available from Mozilla’s Firefox Browser Add-ons repository. Here’s a direct link to our Firefox Extension.

For Firefox, once you install the Betafi Add-on, you must also grant it the necessary permissions once from the Add-ons Manager settings page. This is necessary for the Betafi extension to communicate with the Google Meet website during the call.

Refer to the screenshot below:

After installing our extension, you should see the Betafi pull-tab UI on your next Google Meet call. You can use this to launch the Betafi live session sidebar experience, trigger recording, take timestamped notes, and much more.

Make sure to admit the Betafi bot participant when prompted to ensure the call is recorded.

As long as the Betafi extension is installed, you should see this UI every time you enter a Google Meet call, without any additional steps required. If the Betafi UI is not appearing for you, try restarting your browser or double-check to ensure the extension is enabled and any required permissions have been granted for your specific browser as outlined above.
